知名的華爾街美語在台分校,這個月初,在台灣五間補習班無預警停業,有680學員受到波及!有人繳費後,卻一堂課也沒上到,消基會質疑,這好像是昔日亞力山大的翻版!今天華爾街台灣區加盟主,首度出面道歉!

“在這兩年來,因為整體經濟環境的關係,還有整個政府政策,在成人教育這塊市場,其實經營真的很困難”

在全台灣有5家分校的華爾街美語,8月6日突然歇業,有學員才剛付10萬塊學費,卻連一堂課也沒上到,消基會質疑,業者倒閉前招生,猶如亞力山大的翻版。

“要終止服務之前的時間點,好像還有在進行收單的情形,如果真的有這個問題存在的話,可能會涉及跟亞力山大個案一樣”

業者強調,目前正積極引進新的投資者,希望能重新復校。而台北市消保會,同時也將協助學員,向華爾街提出集體求償。


The franchise owner of Wall Street Institute apologized for the first time today after his schools abruptly closed three weeks ago. Nearly 700 students were left in the lurch, having paid tuition for classes they were never able to attend. 

It was the first public appearance by Chien Chung-hui since he stunned 680 students by suddenly closing the five Wall Street Institute branches in Taiwan.

Over the past two years, the economy and government policy have made the adult education market difficult.

The chain’s five schools in Taiwan all closed on Aug. 6. Some students had just paid as much as NT$100,000 in tuition without even attending a single class. The Consumers’ Foundation thinks fraud occurred.

It seems like they were still accepting tuition payments when plans were underway to end operations. If that’s the case, it’s the same as the Alexander Health Club case.

Wall Street Institute International says it is looking for new investors to reopen the closed Taiwan schools. The Taipei government meanwhile is assisting student compensation claims.
