期盼好幾年的高雄市環狀輕軌，即將要動工了，今天高雄市政府， 和來自西班牙的包商團隊簽約，這是台灣第一條環狀輕軌，未來將結合捷運，增加高雄市的交通和觀光能量。

全台第一條的環狀輕軌，就座落在高雄市，未來將會有36處候車站，環狀路網22.1公里。高雄市捷運目前只有紅橘兩線，方便性不足，現在加上環狀輕軌，未來將和高雄市其他交通運輸工具結合。
Construction will soon begin on Taiwan’s first light rail system. Today Kaohsiung officials signed a contract with the Spanish company CAF to build the circular network, which is scheduled to open in mid-2015.

The 3D image shows how the light rail will wind through Kaohsiung.

Today Mayor Chen Chu and the contractors who will co-build the circular system finalized their agreement in a special ceremony.

The system will be the first of its kind in Taiwan. It will have 36 stops over its 22.1 kilometers and will be integrated with the city’s other mass transit options. Kaohsiung is building the rail system because it feels the two lines on its metro are insufficient.
