退票超消極
四月十號高速公路回數票開放退費之後，至今還有3700多萬張還沒回收，不過民眾只能到高速公路的服務區和收費站辦公室，合計43個點退費，被民進黨立委邱志偉痛批，退費門檻太高，而當初民眾在郵局、超商或銀行買回數票，現在就應該可以在同樣地方辦理退費。
護理師抗議
這個禮拜天除了是母親節，也是國際護師節。有一群護士今天早上集結在衛生署前抗議長久以來的工時問題與跨科調動，造成護理人員工作品質不良，衛生署表示會積極增加護理人力，但護理產業公會說，畸形班表和跨科調動等訴求沒有改變，增加人力根本毫無意義。
電阻蘿蔔糕
食品工業研究所和工研院，發明了一款利用電阻發熱的烹飪方法，它的原理就像是電燈泡，只是把燈泡裡發光的鎢絲換成了食物，短短五分鐘的時間，就能美味上桌。

Slow Recall
For the past month drivers with unused freeway toll tickets have been able to return them, though there are more than 37 million prepaid tickets yet to be returned. DPP Legislator Chiu Chih-wei attributes the slow place of the recall to inconvenience – drivers can only exchange the tickets at freeway rest areas or toll collection offices. The tickets were originally available at post offices, convenience stores and banks. Chiu feels these locations should also accept returns.
Nurses Protest
This Sunday is not just Mother’s Day but also International Nurses Day. Before then a group of nurses protested in front of the Department of Health against long working hours and movement between clinics. They say these conditions reduce quality of care. The department promised to recruit more nurses, but the Taiwan Nurses Union says this would be no help if problems with scheduling and switching between clinics aren’t fixed.
New Cooking Method
Taiwanese researchers have developed a fast new method of cooking. It relies on electrical resistance, much like a light bulb, but cooks food instead of lighting a tungsten filament. The technique was developed by the Food Industry Research and Development Institute and the Industrial Technology Research Institute.
