漁村新景點

許多農民都用牛隻耕作，你有聽過漁民也用牛車來出海撈蚵嗎？其實這是位於彰化芳苑的傳統技藝，而新北市金山的磺港也有一種，用火來吸引魚群的捕魚法，叫做「蹦火仔」。由於這兩種補撈法古老又環保，漁業署特別規劃為特色漁村，加以推廣。

海面上漆黑一片，但船長一點燃磺火，青鱗魚馬上聚集，在海面上彈跳，這種傳統的捕魚方式，叫做「蹦火子仔」流傳了70多年，現在只剩下金山的磺港還繼續使用。

做著牛車，不是種田，而是出海撈蚵，這裡是彰化芳苑，但隨著科技進步，漁民紛紛改用機器，坐著海牛出海的畫面，越來越少見。

“我自己去年也去坐了這個車子，坐出去滿有意思的，漁村文化我們會讓他盡量維持下來，休閒漁業的收入，對漁民不無好處，也讓民眾多一種休閒方式”

漁業署把「新北市金山蹦火仔」及「彰化芳苑海牛採蚵樂」兩處具有地方特色的休閒漁業亮點旅遊，推廣給民眾，體驗漁村傳統技藝與文化。

Fisheries Agency doing its best to keep old fishing traditions alive (2013/06/06)

Taiwan has a number of fishing traditions that are slowly dying out. The Fisheries Agency is now showcasing these traditions as distinctive tourist attractions to keep them alive, whether using sulfuric fire to catch fish or riding oxcarts to sea to harvest oysters. 

Fishermen use a sulfuric fire to light up the pitch black night. Drawn by the light, scaled sardines congregate and ripple the water’s surface. This traditional Taiwanese fishing method has been around for more than 70 years, but the only place where it’s still used is in the Jinshan area on Taiwan’s northern coast.

We’re now facing the problem of passing on old fishing traditions. So these past few years we’ve promoted special activities to let everybody know what sulfuric fire fishing is.

This oxcart is not on its way to plow fields, but to harvest oysters here in Fangyuan, a rural town in Changhua County. With the rise of technology, most fishermen now use machines to perform the task. Scenes of oxcarts heading out to sea are increasingly rare.

I myself went to ride the oxcart last year and thought it was pretty interesting. We will try our best to preserve this kind of traditional fishing culture. The income from fishing tourism will help fishermen, and people will have another leisure option.

The Fisheries Agency is now showcasing sulfuric fire fishing and the Changhua oxcarts as distinctive tourism options, hoping to let people experience traditional fishing techniques and culture.
