行政院經濟建設委員會將在二十二號走入歷史!未來經建會將改制成國家發展委員會，而總統府6號也發布命令，表示經建會主委管中閔將出任國發會主委，管中閔今天出面和大家說明，未來國發會的功能!
前一天晚上，經建會舉辦最後一次年終感恩餐會，管中閔百感交集，謝謝全體同仁。管中閔難得感性，因為經建會將在22號走入歷史。對於要接掌國家發展委員會主委，管中閔心情不輕鬆。

“未來的責任會比以前大很多，我們需要注意的事情，關照的政策層面也比以前廣很多，對這樣的重大責任當然是戒慎恐懼”
管中閔今天針對國家發展委員會的功能，做出詳細解釋。

“過去我們叫經濟建設委員會，重點都是在經濟建設上面，未來稱做國家發展委員會，我們要重視的不僅僅是經濟建設層面，還有社會發展也會，包括永續環境 更重要的是經濟、社會、環境，這些面都不是切開來看的，而應該融合在一起”
對於出口衰退和經濟成長的解決方案，管中閔希望大家能拭目以待。
CEPD minister discusses new National Development Council (2014/01/08)
In two weeks time, the Council for Economic Planning and Development and several other agencies will merge to form the new National Development Council. Heading the new council will be CEPD Minister Kuan Chung-ming, who today expressed anxiety over the increase in responsibilities.
When the CEPD held its last year-end banquet, Minister Kuan Chung-ming showed great emotion and gratitude. On Jan. 22 the CEPD will be replaced by the National Development Council, with Kuan at the helm.

I will have many more responsibilities in the future. There will be a lot more we have to pay attention to, and the range of policies we have to manage will be expanded. Of course I’m scared to take on such a significant responsibility.

In the past, when we were called the Council for Economic Planning and Development, our focus was on economic development. In the future, as the National Development Council, our focus will be on more than just economic development. We will also concentrate on social development, including creation of a sustainable environment. Even more important, we will look at the economy, society and the environment together, rather than separately.
When asked about Taiwan’s struggling exports and economic growth, Kuan said plans for improvement are on the way.
