天氣一冷，流感就發威，這個月才短短20天的時間，全國累計併發症病例比起去年同期暴增10倍。更讓人擔心的是，上海傳出首例醫師感染H7N9禽流感死亡的病例，國內醫師憂心，萬一確定是群聚感染，就代表人傳人可能性提高。
小兒科醫師一早就忙翻了，診所裡滿滿都是爸媽帶小朋友來看診。
根據統計，今年至今，流感併發症累計達到165例，比起去年同期高出超過10倍，台灣不但要忙著應付流感，還要面對中國H7N9禽流感疫情，除了今天出現第一例境外移入H7N9死亡個案，上海也傳出首例醫師感染H7N9禽流感死亡的病例。

“如果他是院內感染，也告訴我們說這個疫情，第一個沒有得到好的控制，第二個這個病毒似乎，往人傳人這條路又邁了一步，它已經可以從病人傳給他的醫生，假設這是院內感染的話，那這個就跟SARS越來越像了”
不過根據中國消息，死亡醫生生前曾住在父母家中，而隔壁鄰居有養鴿子；醫院附近也有一家設有活禽交易的傳統市場。因此初步判定，此次H7N9傳染途徑，依舊是由禽到人。

A spate of flu cases this month has health officials concerned. Another worry is the spread of H7N9 bird flu, which claimed the life of a Chinese tourist in Taiwan yesterday.
Early in the morning, this pediatrician’s clinic was full of parents seeking medical attention for their children.
According to the latest statistics, 165 people have already experienced severe flu-related complications this month. This is an increase of more than 10 times compared to the same period last year. While Taiwan is busy coping with the flu, an outbreak of H7N9 bird flu in China is becoming a major concern. Today, Taiwan announced that a Chinese tourist became its first H7N9 fatality. Reports say that a Shanghai doctor has become the first medical worker in China to succumb to the virus.

If transmission took place within the hospital, this tells us that the disease hasn’t been properly controlled. It also says that the disease could undergo human to human transmission, potentially going from a sick person to a doctor. Assuming it was transmitted within the hospital, this infection could begin to appear more and more like SARS.
The Shanghai doctor was exposed to pigeons near his parents’ home and a traditional market that sells live poultry near the hospital. Authorities therefore have reason to believe that the transmission was still from birds to humans.
