Orchids are a wonderful way to decorate the home during the holiday season. But there’s a problem – most people who buy these delicate plants don’t know how to raise them and often end up killing them. A special inn in Nantou is helping solve this problem by raising rare and expensive orchids on behalf of owners who take the plants home for special occasions. 

The orchid keeper carefully examines the leaves and petals of each plant. These checks take place several times a day.

In this winter weather, you shouldn’t water orchids at night or in the early morning. They would catch a cold, just like people.

The keeper follows an exacting plan when watering or fertilizing the orchids. Treatment can be equated to five-star service.

Once the plant flowers, it will either die or the leaves will fall out if a non-professional tries to care for it. After buying orchids, people can bring them to us and we’ll care for them.

Five years can pass between when an orchid is planted and when it first flowers. Many people like these incredible plants but don’t know how to care for them. The orchid inn hopes to fill a niche by raising the plants for them.

Before Lunar New Year arrives, the orchid inn decorates the plants so they can put on their best face for when their owners take them home. When the holiday passes, the orchids will be brought back to receive professional TLC.
