You have never been to a puppet show like this. For one week in March in the city of Valencia, Spain, the streets are taken over by giant fallas. These are tall puppets, some of which are up to 15 meters in height and made of wood and papier-mache. Each neighborhood backs its own falla,with the fanciest ones costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. On the morning of March 16, the city awakens and finds its streets occupied by these colorful creatures. La Fallas has begun.
During the following week, the fallas are judged. In the end, one is declared the winner. What honor falls on the winner's huge shoulders? It gets the honor of being burned last on the final night of the festival.
