看準台灣觀光潛力，文華東方酒店集團早在六年前佈局，鎖定松山區蓋飯店，也跟中山區、信義區的高檔飯店搶客源，因此台北三大飯店商圈，再掀搶客大戰。

我們鎖定的是歐美的旅客，日本比較高消費群的市場，靠松山機場非常的近，中國的旅客也是我們非常重要的一環，至少我們針對的是高消費的客群。
面對競爭對手來勢洶洶，專走日式高檔客群的大倉久和大飯店並不擔心。

很歡迎他們把這個餅做大，他們的客層經營和我們的確不一樣。信義區那邊百貨公司林立，晚上也有PUB，西方人也會去參與那區塊的飯店，我們這邊是林森商圈，有很多精緻的小酒館，自然而然吸引日本客的親睞。
在松山區的飯店多鎖定中國客，中山區的幾家業者專接日本客，加上信義區的W Hotel、寒舍艾美等以北美、亞洲客為主，台北市三大飯店商圈，戰雲密佈，搶客大戰，即將開打。
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will open a new luxury hotel in Songshan District, Taipei later this year. Its entry turns attention to competition between hotels in Songshan, Zhongshan and Xinyi districts for high-spending foreign tourists.
Workers are busy completing the Mandarin Oriental Taipei, which is being billed as Taiwan’s first six-star hotel. After six years construction, the hotel’s grand opening is slated for May 18. The building is expected to become a new landmark in Songshan District.

We are targeting European and American travelers, the high-end of the Japanese market, and also Chinese tourists. Basically, high-spending groups. An advantage we offer is proximity to Taipei Songshan Airport.
The Okura Prestige Taipei is a competitor that targets high-end Japanese travelers. Its PR manager didn’t express concern about a new entrant in the market.

We welcome them to grow this pie bigger, but their demographics and operations are different than ours. Xinyi District has department stores everywhere and in the evening there are pubs, so westerners are attracted to hotels there. We’re in Linsen Business District, where there are many small taverns which appeal to Japanese visitors.
Generally, hotels in Songshan District target Chinese tourists while those in Zhongshan District target Japanese and those in Xinyi District, such as W Hotel and Le Meridien, focus on North Americans and Asians. A new major entrant in Songshan will further increase competition.
