Before there was YouTube, video games, or electricity, people had to be creative about how they entertained themselves. Whether it involved reading, playing an instrument, or playing card games, people had to fi nd a way to pass the time. The iconic jigsaw puzzle that we all know and love came about around 1760 thanks to a man named John Spilsbury. Spilsbury, who made his living as a mapmaker and engraver in London, would put his maps on a sheet of wood and carve out countries along their borders.
