天秤颱風過後，蘭嶼滿目瘡痍，外界質疑台電核廢料儲存場的安全性。上個月卅一號，但日本"櫻美林"大學 的教授中生勝美，接受蘭嶼朗島國小校長委託前往偵測後，昨天公佈初步結果，發現朗島國小土壤中放射性碘131，已經超過自然背景值，由於碘131屬於人工核裂變的產物，到底從何而來，讓外界很憂心。
被天秤颱風重創的蘭嶼，傳出由日本櫻美林大學教授，在上星期五應邀登島，在朗島國小的土壤中，偵測到已超過自然背景值的人工核裂物的碘131，輻射值有0.03到0.1貝克。

由於碘131是人工同位素，攝取過多的話將對人體有所影響。
日本學者提出警語，外界不免聯想位於蘭嶼東南方，台電的核廢料儲存場，是否受到風災破壞，產生輻射物外洩的疑慮。

原能會保證存放在壕溝中的核廢料未受影響，加上日本教授沒有正式提出朗島的數據，很難做出判斷，原能會強調輻射偵測要有國家認證的實驗室，才具有公信力。
The safety of Taiwan Power’s nuclear waste storage facility on Lanyu is under question following the devastation that Typhoon Tembin brought to the island. A few days ago a Japanese professor visited and found radioactive levels of iodine 131 that exceeded safe limits. But Taiwan Power and the Atomic Energy Council disputed the professor’s findings.
After Lanyu was ravaged by a typhoon, a Japanese professor from JF Oberlin University landed on the island last Friday to take soil samples. He detected iodine 131, a byproduct of nuclear fission, in excess of natural levels. Radiation values ranged from 0.03 to 0.1 becquerels.

I am not a radiation expert, but several times this measurement equipment warned of high radiation levels.
Iodine 131 is a manmade isotope. Too much can affect the human body.
This Japanese expert’s warning raises the possibility that Lanyu’s southeast coast, near Taipower's nuclear waste storage site, may have been damaged potentially leading to a leak of radiation material.

Our storage facility and all 23 storage ditches are safe and sound.
The Atomic Energy Council has ensured that all underground nuclear waste storage facilities were unaffected. Additionally, the Japanese professor has not formally offered his data from Langdao Elementary School. The council reiterated that they have their own certified radiation laboratory to ensure credibility.
