氣象局表示，今年第12號輕颱潭美，最快週二將接連發布海上跟陸上警報，由於從各國預測路徑看來，潭美有機會從北台灣登陸，加上它外圍環流引進西南風，配合中元節大潮，對西半部也造成不小威脅，因此氣象局正嚴密監控，颱風動態。
颱風潭美正在東台灣海面，虎視眈眈，再過一天，就要轉個彎，直撲而來。氣象局預告，週二，海陸警，會接連發布。

“它未來可能會比較明顯的，在明天後天，會比較明顯，朝向台灣方向移動，所以不排除在明天上午這段期間，發布海上颱風警報，陸警的部分的話，如果依照目前的狀況來研判，可能會落在明天下午或晚上”
從週二下半天開始，北部東半部，受到颱風影響，將出現長浪和短暫雨，週三後，潭美南邊拖著的長條水氣，也會攏罩西半部地區!

“颱風在南邊有一些寬廣的雲帶，所以它在靠近的一個過程，除了颱風本身的影響之外，這個西南邊的這些水氣，跟西南風也會整個影響台灣地區”
尤其週三中元節前後，適逢大潮，種種條件搭配下，儘管颱風強度不是很強，但民眾仍要提高警覺。

The Central Weather Bureau says sea and land warning for Tropical Storm Trami could be issued as early as tomorrow. Forecasters predict that Taiwan will begin to feel the effects of the storm tomorrow and expect it to lash the island with heavy rains and wind on Wednesday.
Tropical Storm Trami, poised off the east coast of Taiwan, will turn in the next day and end up on direct course for the island. The Central Weather Bureau expects to issue sea and land warnings tomorrow.

Tomorrow and the day after, (Trami’s) path to Taiwan will become more obvious, so we do not rule out issuing a sea tropical storm warning tomorrow morning. A land warning could come tomorrow afternoon or later in the evening.
From Tuesday afternoon, northern and eastern Taiwan will begin to feel the effects of the tropical storm. Waves will increase in size and there will be intermittent rain. From Wednesday onward, Tropical Storm Trami will also cover western Taiwan.

The tropical storm has a wide cloud band to the south. As its path comes closer, aside from the direct impact of the storm, moisture from the southwest and southwesterly winds could affect all of Taiwan.
Tropical Storm Trami’s arrival coincides with Ghost Festival on Wednesday, sparking additional fears in some members of the general public.
