When Hawking finished high school, he was awarded a scholarship to attend Oxford, where he studied physics and chemistry. At first, he was bored because the work was too easy. He was also lonely because he was much younger than his classmates. Therefore, he decided to join the rowing team and became interested in classical music and science fiction.
