Al Gore's groundbreaking documentary on climate change, An Inconvenient Truth, was first released this month in 2006. Gore's interest in the environment started when he studied at Harvard University, but it strengthened when he became the vice president of the United States in 1993. During his time at the White House, Gore worked with other officials to reduce carbon emissions and greenhouse gases. When he lost the presidential election in 2000, he decided to take his passion for the environment to the people.
