〔記者王秀亭／台東報導〕「錯誤的翻譯會讓外國人恥笑。」

前ＹＭＣＡ英語教 師呂 先生，日前到綠島單車環島時，

發現東管處綠島管理站的雙語告示牌竟出現五處錯誤，

氣得向本報投訴，直言觀光局應嚴格把關。

觀光局東海岸管理處副處長林維玲坦承英譯有誤，

告示牌所在的露營區已委外經營，將於今天中午前拆除。

民眾糾正 東管處今拆除

呂先生表示，九月底到綠島自行車環島，

赫見路旁一處告示牌多處錯誤，因綠島的外籍觀光客很多，

出現謬誤顯示國人的英語素養不足，英譯態度不嚴謹，

只要請個稍諳英語人士過濾一下，應可減少許多錯誤。

告示牌英文寫著：

「This camping area is belonged to the visitorcenter.

If you want to camp here, you have to apply for the dmittance

to the visitorcenter first（TEL:672026）And please obey the

rules here Thank you cooperation.」

呂姓民眾說，is belonged to 應改為 belongs為第一錯；

其二是visitorcenter 是visitor center 兩個字，非一個字，

且與中文的東管處綠島管理站語意不合，遊客中心只是服務遊客的據點；

dmittance不僅拼錯，用字也不當，改為apply for a permit at 較恰當；

And更不適合當句首，here是多餘字；

第五錯是Thank you cooperation，應該是Thank you for your cooperation。

台東大學英美系主任溫宏悅認為，告示牌應改為

This camping area belongs to the visitor center.

If you want to camp here, please apply to the visitor center first (TEL： 672026).

Thank you for your cooperation.

較為恰當。
