馬聖國引渡

馬總統賀誼之旅，抵達最後一個邦交國，聖克里斯多福，兩國簽訂了引渡條約，還在午宴吃了台灣豬腳。

抵達聖克里斯多福之後，重頭戲就是兩國外交部長，簽訂引渡條約。

剛才我們簽的這個條約，引渡條約，是30年來，貴我兩國所簽的、所締結的第一個條約，對於打擊犯罪、對於伸張正義，具有重要的意義。

讓克國政要驚喜的，還有午宴桌上，道地的台灣豬腳，由我國駐克國大使曹立傑的夫人精心準備。

台灣的豬腳和我們國家的很不一樣，我們是搭配萊姆和胡椒，台灣的也很棒，有甜甜的味道。

馬總統也說，希望這道美食能拉近台灣和聖克里斯多福兩國的關係。

Taiwan, St. Kitts sign extradition treaty (2013/08/19)

President Ma Ying-jeou is close to wrapping up his five-country diplomatic tour. His latest stop, to the island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis, was marked by the signing of a bilateral extradition treaty. 

The treaty was signed by the foreign ministers of the two countries.

The extradition treaty we just signed is the first bilateral treaty our two countries have concluded in 30 years (of diplomatic relations). It has important meaning in the fight against crime and the expansion of justice.

The wife of Miguel Tsao, the Taiwanese ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, surprised local government officials by preparing authentic Taiwanese pork knuckle for an afternoon banquet.

It’s a bit different to ours. Ours is cooked with lime and pepper. But it’s very nice. It has a sweeter taste.

President Ma also seemed to enjoy the pork knuckle feast, calling it a form of food diplomacy.
