One such community lies in the eastern foothills of the Central Mountain Range of Taiwan.The farmers of Xibao have gotten together to grow crops and raise their cattle in an eco-friendly way. The local farmers in the area change the type of crops they grow often, compost, and avoid using any dangerous chemicals, such as pesticides and fertilizers. Since the program started four years ago, the local farmers have already noticed that much of the natural wildlife, which had previously disappeared, has returned to the area. Different species of reptiles, amphibians, and even owls have begun reclaiming their natural habitats because of these farmers.
位在台灣中央山脈東邊的山麓丘陵就有一個這樣的社區。西寶的農民聚集起來用環保的方式來栽種作物及飼養牛群。該區當地的農民會更換他們經常栽種的作物種類、製作堆肥，並且避免使用像是殺蟲劑和肥料這類任何的危險化學物品。自從四年前這項計畫開始後，當地農民發現很多以前已經消失的自然野生動物又回到了這個地區。因為這些農民的關係，不同種類的爬蟲類動物、兩棲動物，甚至貓頭鷹都開始重新回到牠們的自然棲息地了。
