Born without a right hand, he would not let his handicap get in the way of his dreams of pitching in the MLB. In 1989, his dream came true when he made his debut with the California Angels. He would go on to enjoy a solid 10-year career in the majors. In 1993, while pitching for the New York Yankees, Abbott even threw a no-hitter. Abbott has inspired countless other athletes. Among them is Dawson Batts, a 12-year-old baseball player with only one arm. Like Abbott, Batts pitches, and even bats and plays in the field.
