Lenny Robinson, a Baltimore local who dressed as Batman to delight sick children, was hit by a car on Sunday, August 16. The 51-year-old Caped Crusader had stopped at the side of the road to check his car for engine trouble. His custom-made “batmobile” had been partially parked in the fast lane of the highway when a Toyota Camry slammed into Robinson’s car, sending it into his body. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
For more than 10 years, Robinson visited children’s hospitals and charities to thrill sick children and educate young people about the dangers of bullying. He even changed his voice when he spoke to sound like the real Batman.
