Four years ago, a small, brown dog named Formosa was found in Taiwan’s Nantou County with her bottom cut open. Formosa would have died had it not been for the efforts of Animal Rescue Team Taiwan. Ni Ching-tai, who volunteers for the group, fixed Formosa’s wound, which was already infected. Formosa is now doing well in the United States in the hands of her new owner, Emma Parker Bowles.
As it turns out, Bowles is the niece of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who is the wife of the future king of England. According to Ni, it is probably the first time a dog from Taiwan has been adopted by someone connected to the English royal family.
