Wherever Lady Gaga goes, her fans — whom she calls “little monsters” — follow and so do TV ratings.

The American pop star is scheduled to visit Taiwan next month to promote her latest album and that has set local television stations into a frenzy to try to get her to appear on their shows.

Lady Gaga will visit after performing at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan event on June 25, a representative from Universal Music Taiwan said. So far, the singer’s record label has received dozens of invitations from television stations.

“It’s pretty much all the variety shows you can think of,” including Chang Fei (張菲), one of Taiwan’s premier TV hosts, the spokesperson said.

For Lady Gaga fans, the pop star’s arrival promises to be a feast for their senses, since she usually pushes the boundaries with what she wears and says during public appearances.

One Facebook fan posted a message on the Lady Gaga Taiwan Official Forum that read: “Hope gaga will be on TV all day that week.”

Local corporations have also expressed interest in sponsoring the singer’s trip or inviting her to endorse their products. but the dates and other details of her first visit have not been set, Universal Music said.

The record label spokesperson also dismissed previous reports that Lady Gaga would perform a concert in Greater Taichung, explaining the rumor came from an event organizer in Taichung who had contacted Universal Music about a potential collaboration.

The spokesperson said his company would try to arrange an event for fans to interact with the star, but this could not be done until the dates have been confirmed.

Lady Gaga usually travels to other countries for concerts, but she does not often promote her albums overseas.

The spokesperson said she had decided to visit Taiwan because she enjoys meeting with her “little monsters” in different countries.

Her second album, Born This Way, has sold about 20,000 copies since it was released in Taiwan on May 24 — topping all the music charts.

The pop sensation has more than 10 million fans on Twitter and she currently has the most popular Twitter account in the world.
