How is knowledge exchanged and shared when interdisciplinary research teams work together? Professor Margarete Boos and Lianghao Dai from the University of Gottingen have investigated this by studying several different research projects.
跨領域研究團隊合作時,如何交換及分享知識?德國哥廷根大學教授瑪格麗特.菩斯和里恩浩.岱伊,透過考察數個不同的研究專案,對此進行探究。
"The first, which we refer to as the ’theory-method interdisciplinary collaboration pattern,’ involves one party providing a theoretical understanding, and the other offering methods for collecting and analysing the data. The second, which we called the ’technical interdisciplinary collaborative pattern,’ is characterised by the exchange of learning tools such as algorithms and technical know-how to solve a shared research question," says Boos.
「第一類合作,我們稱作『理論方法跨領域協作模式』,其中一方提供理論理解,另一方則提供搜集與分析數據的方法。第二類合作,我們稱作『技術跨領域合作模式』,特徵是彼此交換學習工具,例如演算法和技術訣竅,以解決共同的研究問題,」菩斯表示。
"We found that interdisciplinary teams can save time and money if they agree on goals, communication rules and research tools in a kick-off meeting. They also need to discuss the understanding of their basic concepts - which is usually different! "
「我們發現,倘若跨領域團隊在啟動會議就目標、溝通規則、研究工具取得共識,可以節省時間和金錢。成員也需要討論對基礎概念的理解,團隊間就基礎概念的理解通常有所不同!」
