The Biden administration on Friday issued last-minute proposed rules to curb duty-free imports under the $800 "de minimis" threshold, denying the low-value shipments exemption for goods that are subject to other punitive U.S. tariffs.

Vietnam is to pay residents who snitch on traffic offenders up to five million dong ($200) as the Southeast Asian country strives to bring rule-breaking drivers into line on its notoriously chaotic roads.

Road crews were repairing a short stretch of Interstate 80 in northern New Jersey on Friday where a sinkhole forced the eastbound lanes to shut down, but it was still unknown when they will reopen.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was set to run for a second term in upcoming snap elections after his popular Defence Minister Boris Pistorius—a possible replacement—ruled himself out of the running on Thursday.

Army veteran Wayne Hoey takes his saxophone with him everywhere. It came in handy late last year when his flight sat on the tarmac for more than an hour in Atlanta.

Hoey was returning from a family visit to Detroit and was on a Delta Air Lines connecting flight to Augusta, Georgia. As his plane waited at the gate, delayed by a staffing issue, he noticed a few toddlers across the aisle were starting to fuss.

Abi Richards, 35, of Hampshire, England, said she spent nearly $300 on food and drinks this Christmas since she’s cooking for 10 family members across three days.

But they are not only alive, they are listening too, said brewer Yoshimi Terasawa, and the type of music coming from a loudspeaker below the tank determines how the spirit will taste.
