林杰樑病逝
在昏迷四天後,知名毒物科專家林杰樑,因為肺部病毒感染,導致敗血性休克,併發多重器官衰竭,在中午12點42分,宣告不治。長庚醫院副院長葉森洲表示,由於家屬不願意讓林杰樑受苦,因此決定拔管。
一左一右,陪伴毒物科專家林杰樑的遺體,妻兒哀傷地步出加護病房。

林杰樑教授,不幸於今天8月5號12點42分辭世,享年55歲,事實上他生命跡象已經沒有,家屬希望可以減少林教授的痛苦,所以決定,家屬決定就不再使用維生設備。
這一切,發生太突然,上週五清晨6點,林杰樑感覺頭暈,呼吸困難,7點30分,他被送進林口長庚急診室時,當時意識非常清楚,醫院診斷出嚴重肺水腫,緊急幫林杰樑洗腎,卻沒想到當天下午三點,病情快速惡化,林杰樑不僅裝上葉克膜,同時陷入昏迷,週一,就因為出現敗血性休克,併發多重器官衰竭,宣告不治。
追究致死原因,院方表示,由於完全找不到細菌感染源,推測可能是病毒感染。
第一時間,林杰樑大兒子在臉書上,po出不幸消息。
院方也決定成立林杰樑研究基金,希望將林杰樑為守護國人健康的精神,繼續傳承下去。

After four days in a coma, renowned toxicology expert Lin Chieh-liang was taken off life support and pronounced dead at 12:42 Monday. He was just 55 years old. Lin was best known for public health advocacy, particularly in the area of food safety, and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital has promised to create a research fund in his name.

Lin’s supervisor, the vice president of Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, was emotional as he announced the news this afternoon.

Professor Lin Chieh-liang died at 12:42 on Aug. 5 at the age of 55. There were no vital signs and the family wished he could avoid suffering, so it decided not to continue use of life support equipment.
Lin’s health deteriorated suddenly. Last Friday morning he felt dizzy along with labored breathing and was taken to the emergency room at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He was fully conscious, and the hospital diagnosed him with a severe case of fluid in the lungs. He was sent immediately for kidney dialysis, though his situation deteriorated quickly. By three in the afternoon he was put on a machine to help with artificial respiration and soon slipped into a coma. On Monday, he experienced septic shock, leading to multiple organ failure. He was ultimately pronounced dead this afternoon
As for the cause of death, the hospital speculated it may have been a viral infection because it could not find the source of a potential bacterial infection.
Lin’s son took to Facebook to post the sad news of his father’s passing.
Upon hearing the news, many came to Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to offer their wishes on a special wall. They were moved to tears after learning of Lin’s passing. The hospital has pledged to create a research fund in his name, allowing his public health advocacy to continue.
