A Spanish company has devised a system to extract drinking water from thin air to supply arid regions where people are in desperate need.
一家西班牙公司設計出一套系統，可從稀薄空氣中提取出飲用水，供應乾旱地區民眾急需的用水。
"The goal is to help people," said Enrique Veiga, the 82-year-old engineer who invented the machine during a harsh drought in southern Spain in the 1990s. "The goal is to get to places like refugee camps that don’t have drinking water."

The devices made by his company, Aquaer, are already delivering clean, safe water to communities in Namibia and a Lebanese refugee camp.

The machines use electricity to cool air until it condenses into water, harnessing the same effect that causes condensation in air-conditioning units.

A pair of identical twin girls were welcomed into the world by identical twin nurses working in their delivery room in Athens, Georgia at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

The twin nurses, Tori Howard and Tara Drinkard, in Athens, Georgia at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, helped deliver the babies, Addison and Emma Williams by chance.

The newborns’ father, Brannan Williams, said he was really nervous about going into the delivery room, but when he heard there would be twins assisting the birth, he felt a bit more relaxed.

Their mother Rebecca also works at the hospital, so he’s sure their family and the nurses will stay in touch.

South Korean health workers staffing COVID-19 testing centers in the summer heat can now take a minute to peel off their heavy protective suits and cool down in government-provided ’recovery buses’ equipped with air conditioning, cold water and snacks.
在夏季高溫中工作的南韓COVID-19篩檢中心醫護人員，現在可以暫時卸下重裝，待在政府提供、配有空調、冰水和點心的「振作公車」內涼快一會了。
"It feels like I’m in igloo and I can refresh myself here," a medical staffer Jung Tae-du said.
醫護人員鄭泰斗（譯音）說：「這裡感覺像在雪屋裡，可以讓我振作精神。」
The 22 buses are usually used as resting spaces by police and fire fighters and are being deployed on a rotating basis to temporary testing centers.

The National Fire Agency said some buses are equipped with shower booths and bunk beds, and stocked with cups of instant noodles and kimchi. The agency is considering providing another 82 fire station buses upon request by local government.（Reuters）

President Joe Biden has filled about 56% of his senior White House staff positions with women, including about 36% who come from racially and-or ethnically diverse backgrounds, according the White House.

The Biden administration published the gender and pay analysis of its staff on Thursday. The average salary for women in the administration is $93,752, while men average $94,639, representing about a 1% pay gap.
