因為國際油價上揚，中油宣布明天凌晨開始，要調漲油價，但是受到人事成本增加的影響，中油底下的加盟業者毛利下降，三年來已經有120家倒閉的情況，現在加盟的業者揚言，如果中油不調整加盟站的毛利，年後全台會有1700多家加油站，歇業三天來抗議。 

中油宣布27日開始，調漲各式汽油價格每公升0.3元、柴油也調升0.4元。

不僅是民眾大喊吃不消，就連加油站的加盟業者也受不了了，因為業者與中油的利潤計算公式，15年來都沒調整，隨著物價上漲，現在的毛利率不到15年前的一半。

“物價調漲很多，加油站管理費用、公安要求，環保問題都要增加非常多的費用，如果不調整(計算公式)，加油站沒辦法經營，現在關一百多家會增加到兩百多家”

加盟業者說，若中油再置之不理，過年後旗下1700多家加油站串聯罷工三天，而且還打算上街抗議。

State-run refiner’s pricing mechanism doesn’t account for less profits at the pump (2014/01/26)

Gas prices are slated to rise early Monday morning. Not only will motorists be upset, but also a number of gas station operators who say higher wages and other costs are cutting into their profits, leading 120 stations to close over the past three years. Gas station operators threaten a 3-day nationwide strike if no changes are made. 

Taiwan’s state-run refiner, CPC Corporation announced that on Monday morning, all types of gas will rise by NT$0.3 per liter with diesel fuel rising by NT$0.4.

It’s not only motorists who are upset with the higher prices, but also gas station operators who say the formula CPC uses to share profits hasn’t been adjusted in 15 years. Now, with costs rising, their gross profit margin is only half of what it was 15 years ago.

There have been a lot of price hikes in other areas such as gas station management fees, public security requirements, and environmental issues have increased the cost of operations by a lot. If we don’t adjust the (profit sharing formula), gas stations can no longer operate, and the number (of gas stations) that shut down will rise from 100 to more than 200.

大動作宣告邁入雲端領域，但員工最開心的莫過於抽獎了，除了原本的現金獎，郭台銘當場加碼50名十萬元現金獎，總計一共發了一千萬元的現金。

At a year-end party today, Hon Hai Group Chairman, Terry Gou, pledged to remain the group’s leader for the next ten years. He also announced a plan to grow the company’s revenues from NT$4 trillion to NT$10 trillion. 

The Hon Hai Group held its year-end celebration with Chairman Terry Guo addressing the issue of future leadership succession.

I have a small medical group caring for me so I believe that over the next 10 years I can continue leading this company. I have no intention to retreat to a second-level of leadership otherwise our stock will fall tomorrow. However, we will continue training young talent which will not change. 

Hon Hai celebrated its 40th anniversary with the group undergoing a major reorganization, restructuring into 12 key units each with its own president. As for future group revenue, Gou said he was confident he could still produce glowing results.

立法院明天將表決行政院提出的地政士法覆議案，不滿法案內容「兩套標準」，地政士代表號召3000位地政士，明天下午到立法院外靜坐抗議。

部份地政士質疑，該法規定地政士進行房屋實價登錄時，必須登記房價、房屋格局等19項，若有失誤，連限期改正機會都沒有，就要挨罰最高15萬，反觀屋主自行登記，卻有更正機會，非常不合理。

Land Agent Administration Act (2014/01/26)

Tomorrow, the Legislature will meet to consider a Cabinet-backed plan to void part of a controversial amendment to the Land Administration Agent Act. Some 3,000 land agents are planning a sit-in protest at the Legislature tomorrow, worried that the action may create a dangerous double standard. 

Land agents worry that voiding an amendment will require them to register housing prices and 19 other types of information without the possibility of correcting their reported information. If the amendment is voided, any information they report that is in error could potentially result in a maximum fine of NT$150,000. However, if property owners self- register, they are able to correct and modify such information. Land agents believe that voiding the amendment will unfairly discriminate against them and create a double standard.

Special greenhouse helps orchid owners care for their plants (2014/01/20)

Orchids are a wonderful way to decorate the home during the holiday season. But there’s a problem – most people who buy these delicate plants don’t know how to raise them and often end up killing them. A special inn in Nantou is helping solve this problem by raising rare and expensive orchids on behalf of owners who take the plants home for special occasions. 

The orchid keeper carefully examines the leaves and petals of each plant. These checks take place several times a day.

In this winter weather, you shouldn’t water orchids at night or in the early morning. They would catch a cold, just like people.

The keeper follows an exacting plan when watering or fertilizing the orchids. Treatment can be equated to five-star service.

南台灣瘋熱氣球，屏東大鵬灣在農曆春節期間也要舉辦熱氣球嘉年華，不過，海陸交界的大鵬灣，有人認為風不小，並不適宜飛熱氣球，果不其然，主辦單位下午嘗試將2個熱氣球灌風，就受到風大影響，只成功一半。

大鵬灣也要跟流行，記者會中要展示兩個熱氣球，但似乎不太順利。

強風一陣一陣吹來，把燈籠造形的熱氣球吹得東倒西歪。幸好另一個圓仔造形的熱氣球稍微爭氣一點，總算灌氣成功，但沒過多久，又被強風攪局。

四級風就不可以了，在我們的風力計算就是，三級風以下都可以起(飛)，今天大概是四級半，各位剛剛可以看到那個球是搖來搖去。

熱氣球這幾年來成為全台活動的新寵，光是農曆過年期間，南部除了屏東大鵬灣之外，高雄美濃，和台南走馬瀨都有熱氣球，勢必分散空中商機，但業者仍是信心滿滿。

評估過了，基本上我們這邊的條件，是他們所有去安排這個活動最好的一個，創造的商機可以說是無限。

不過，海陸交會的大鵬灣，冬天東北季風較強，有人就認為地點並不適合熱氣球，連記者會這天成功機率都只有一半，之後能否順利，將是決定人潮和錢潮的關鍵。

Strong winds could make for bumpy balloon rides in Dapeng Bay (2014/01/20)

Pingtung County is entering the hot air balloon business by offering rides in Dapeng Bay this Lunar New Year. But strong winds at a press conference today suggested that it won’t all be smooth sailing. 

Dapeng Bay’s initial foray into the hot air balloon craze didn’t go so well during today’s press conference.

Strong gusts of wind blew a lantern-shaped balloon in all directions. Another panda-shaped balloon seemed to have more success, though it too was blown around.
