做生意店面要大器，是很多商家的堅持，但現在因為房租越來越貴，有百貨公司將畸零的空間--兩坪拿來短租，沒想到兩坪空間，卻可以創造出一年好幾千萬營業額，坪效甚至比化妝品專櫃還要高！

補貨動作要快，因為罐裝泡菜超熱銷，一天最多可以賣出250盒，生意旺到不行。

隔壁鄰居也沒閒著，忙著烤肉干吸引人氣，假日最高營業額，一天逼近10萬元。

這家泡菜攤單日營收3.5萬，加上肉干店10萬，一年365天下來，兩坪大的空間，就創造將近5千萬佳績，打敗化妝品專櫃，拿下全館第一名。

銷售量非常好，因為這麼小的位置，我們要三四個人來應付才行，以坪效來講的話，一定比我們自己的直營門市還好。

像這樣百貨公司無法利用的畸零地，要租給專櫃，面積不夠大，又不想浪費，有的就拿來短租。

不過這間百貨的策略是不收租金，只向業者抽取20%-25%營收，但前提是，必須具有"話題性"，符合國內首櫃、新品或是促銷商品，才能簽約。

價位比較平價，比一般專櫃還要平價， 有時候也會撿到好貨。

這些臨時櫃位都選在手扶梯、門口、或是洗手間附近，位置非首選，卻是人潮最多的地方，因此"精華小坪數空間"，也讓店家擠破頭要承租。

Department stores offer short-term leases for spaces as small as 2 pings (2014/01/21)

The high cost of commercial space is leading many department stores to offer short-term rentals for stands as small as 2 pings. Some of the micro-businesses that fill these spaces are proving to be a huge hit among shoppers. 

This person works quickly to replenish stocks of kimchi. Sales reach as much as 250 pieces a day.

A neighbor is doing equally well. By selling meat, its weekend revenues approach up to NT$100,000. 

In just a small space, these businesses earn tens of millions of NT dollars in revenues each year. They even beat cosmetic counters to be among the top retailers in the entire department store.

內政部去年12月18日，公布南投清境七家位於中高地質災害風險區的違規民宿，在去年12月19號被南投縣政府勒令停業一個月，七家業者在一個月的改善期限內，提出合法申請，暫時不開罰，但其中一家清境龍莊，因為申請人資格不符被駁回，南投縣府表示，這七家業者恐怕都來不及，在農曆年前，拿到合法登記證。

標榜日式會館的清境龍莊，擁有1500坪的景觀造景，網頁照片極美，但因為位在內政部公佈的，中高潛勢危險區，再加上沒有合法民宿登記，被勒令停業。

“我們現在配合政府，先暫停營業”

包括清境龍莊，其他像愛和華山莊、清境緣等七間因為有執照及擴建的問題，都被勒令停業。但七家業者都在一個月的期限內，提出合法申請，因此暫不開罰。不過清境龍莊申請人資格不符被駁回，需再次申請審核。

業者努力補件申請，就是想趕在過年前拿到合法登記，但現在恐怕還是來不及。

賺不到過年財，業者無奈，只盼縣府能加快接下來的審查腳步，恢復營業。

Illegal Cingjing guesthouses avoid fines but will remain closed over the Lunar New Year (2014/01/21)

Seven guesthouses found last year to be operating without a license in the scenic area of Cinjing, Nantou County will likely remain closed over the Lunar New Year. But each has applied for a license and for now can avoid paying any fines. 

The Dragon Manor Resort promotes itself as a Japanese style guesthouse with vast scenic platforms. Its beautiful setting is apparent from its website. What it doesn’t have is a license to operate as a guesthouse, plus it’s located in a geologically mid-to-high-risk zone. This could lead to its demise.

In accordance with the government’s request, we will suspend operations.

Dragon Manor is one of seven resorts that were operating without a license or had undergone illegal expansions and were ordered to close. After they were exposed, they were given one month to apply for a license. Each did and will not be fined. But Dragon Manor will have to reapply because its applicant did not meet qualifications.

交通部上午舉辦新春記者會，除了針對eTag再度重申說明外，也公布了春節的運疏措施。

春節的龐大返鄉車潮，將會是交通部eTag上路後的第一個考驗。交通部為了要讓春節車輛分流，今天公布了運輸措施。

交通部目標往返北高六小時就可以到；如要往來台中的話，建議走國道一號；南北則是走國道3號。收費部分，30日除夕到2月4號初五，晚上11點到早上六點將實施全線雙向站停收費。國道三號「新竹系統到燕巢系統」通行費打8折。

但記者會上，交通部仍得面對eTag這尷尬難題。交通部長再度重申稽查方式。

“我們會有一個嚴格的稽核的方式，如果三個月內沒有達到我們比合約更嚴格的稽核方式的話，我們會啟動一個解約的一個程序”

葉匡時還透露，將親自打電話測試遠通客服速度。

“譬如說APP、網站的服務、客服 ，這些地方我要親自去測試，了解它目前從用路人、客戶的角度，那遠通的服務是不是達到，讓大家覺得滿意”

除夕後遠通如再出包，高公局將按日罰50萬。

Transportation minister addresses eTag, holiday traffic (2014/01/21)

The Ministry of Transportation has announced measures it will take this coming holiday season to ease traffic on the nation’s highways. Greater concern seems to be the bumpy rollout of fully electronic toll collection. This led Transportation Minister Yeh Kuang-shih to once again demand major improvements from the company that runs the system within the next three months. 

The Ministry of Transportation faces several challenges when motorists return home for the holidays this Lunar New Year. Today it announced special recommendations and measures to ease traffic flow.

The ministry’s goal is for travel between Taipei and Kaohsiung to take no more than six hours. For those traveling to and from Taichung, it suggests National Freeway 1, and for travel between Tainan and Taipei, it suggests National Freeway 3. From Jan. 30 to Feb. 4, travel will be toll free between the hours of 11 pm and 6 am. There will be a 20 percent discount for travel on National Freeway 3 between Hsinchu and Yanchao District, Kaohsiung.

Most reporters were interested in what the ministry is doing to improve double charges and other problems with eTag billing.

輔仁大學兩位大學生?佳妮和胡庭芸二十日代表台灣參加「2014美國ICU世界大學啦啦隊錦標賽」，勇奪「啦啦舞蹈雙人彩球組」冠軍，兩人今天出面受訪，還現場表演一段，展現絕佳默契。接下來他們還要代表台灣參加世界盃錦標賽。

一個騰空跳躍，接著舞動彩球，原地轉圈，兩人精彩的演出，讓輔大學生涂佳妮和胡庭芸，拿下美國ICU世界大學啦啦隊錦標賽，雙人組世界冠軍。

我們在上場前就還說，哎喲當做表演就好囉，我們就互相鼓勵，因為我們都知道對方，我們默契很好。

就讀輔大體育系四年級的?佳妮和胡庭芸，高中都是舞蹈班的學生，進大學才接觸啦啦舞，而且兩個人默契好的沒話說，長得還有點像雙胞胎。

冒著寒流，這對拍檔還現場表演一段。今年四月他們將代表台灣參加美國ICU世界盃啦啦隊錦標賽，希望能再締造好成績。

Cheerleading pair from Fu Jen University wins international competition (2014/01/22)

Two students from Fu Jen Catholic University earned a gold medal at the ICU World University Cheerleading Championship. The pair won the freestyle pom doubles competition. 

These cheerleaders jump into the air, shake their pom-poms then spin. It’s an exciting performance from Fu Jen University students Tu Chia-ni and Hu Ting-yun, who took gold at the International Cheer Union World University Cheerleading Championships. The category they won was the freestyle pom doubles competition.

Before we started, we said let’s just have a good performance. We gave each other encouragement and were familiar with one another out there.

Tu and Hu are fourth-year students in the Department of Physical Education. They studied dance in high school and began cheerleading upon entering university. They look alike, and many people consider them to be twins. 

紅面鴨充氣
不讓黃色小鴨專美於前，花蓮縣府花了250萬打造15公尺高的紅面鴨，今天在鯉魚潭完成充氣測試。紅面鴨將在1月24日開跑的太平洋燈會中正式亮相，之後長期駐守鯉魚潭。

三星大木馬
三星鄉的大木馬，今天開幕，數十人在上面賣力搖動，6.4公尺高的搖搖洛克馬看起來好吸睛，現場還有舞獅和鼓陣表演，讓遊客high翻了。

花在彰化 
彰化縣政府從1月31日大年初一開始，為期十天，舉辦花在彰化活動，利用在地特有的花卉和苗木，打造了占地132公頃，號稱全國最大的平地公園。

Another Giant Duck
Capitalizing on media interest generated by the Keelung Rubber Duck, the Hualien County Government spent NT$2.5 million to build its own localized version. Today, tests were carried out on the Red-faced Duck, which measures 15 meters in height. It will go on display at Hualien’s Carp Lake on Friday, to coincide with the Pacific Ocean Lantern Festival.

Rocking Horse
Sansing Township’s large rocking horse was officially unveiled today. It takes at least a dozen people to get this 6.4-meter tall rocking horse moving. The sight of this immense object has attracted the attention of many. Today, live performances such as a lion dance and drum performance entertained visitors.

Flowers of Changhua 
The first day of Lunar New Year will be the start of Changhua County’s 10-day floral festival. The event features endemic flowers and seedlings. It will be spread out over 132 hectares, in what is being dubbed Taiwan’s largest park.
