Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu had his Twitter account briefly suspended for "aggressively following" other users, just hours after it was launched.

The ex-archbishop’s @TutuLegacy account racked up hundreds of followers in its first hours of use, before being black listed.

這位前大主教的帳號@TutuLegacy 才開張幾小時，就累積了數百名關注者，然後就被列入黑名單。

"Twitter says it’s sorry for the inconvenience over our suspension. We got caught up in a spam clean up. Glad it wasn’t something we said," Tutu tweeted soon after he was unblocked.

「推特表示對『帳號遭停權造成不便』表示抱歉。我們是被清除垃圾帳號的行動所波及。很高興不是因為我們說錯了什麼話，」圖圖在帳號重新啟用後不久在推特上發文說。

His foundation had earlier expressed dismay at the decision. "Twitter has not explained how following 30 people could be construed as "aggressive following", it said in a statement.

他的基金會先前曾對推特停用其帳號的決定感到沮喪。「推特並未解釋為何關注了30人就會被解讀為『大量關注』，」基金會在聲明中指出。

"I hope the powers that be at Twitter find it in their hearts to fix the problem and let us communicate again," Tutu’s daughter Mpho said. "We need to reassure all those people who started following us today that this is the real deal!"（AFP）

A US man has sued a casino in Columbus, Ohio, after he was robbed at gunpoint of thousands of dollars of blackjack winnings at his home later.

He says the Hollywood Casino Columbus should have paid him in a cheque and failed to keep his address and other personal information confidential.

According to the lawsuit, after winning at the blackjack tables during a gambling session in October, Mr Hayes took his chips to the cashier at the Hollywood Casino Columbus and asked to be given a cheque. The clerk did not respond, so Mr Hayes offered to accept cash.

A Dutch activist blamed for making a Philippine policeman cry was deported and permanently banned from the country, the immigration bureau said Thursday.

The bureau said Thomas van Beersum was deported on Wednesday after the authorities had picked him out from a photograph that went viral showing him allegedly haranguing a uniformed police officer at an anti-government protest in Manila last month.

A big new study says as the world gets warmer, people are more prone to get hot under the collar. Scientists found that aggressive acts like violent crimes and wars become more likely with each added degree.

The research analyzed 60 studies of such things as the historic collapses of empires, recent wars and violent crime rates in the United States. They found a common thread： Extreme weather _ hot or dry _ means more violence.

這份研究分析60份針對歷史上帝國瓦解、近代戰爭與美國暴力犯罪率等的研究成果。他們發現一個共通的線索：極端天氣，不管是極熱或極乾，都代表更多暴力。

An author of the study said that when the weather gets bad people tend to be more willing to hurt others. The team of economists even came up with a formula that predicts how much the risk of different types of violence should increase with extreme weather.

同時針對歡迎的站點，尖峰時間一車難求，現場沒有規劃排隊區，民眾反應排隊秩序混亂的問題，北市府也有對策。

不只有沒車的問題，民眾也反應還車常碰到車柱停滿車，沒有辦法還，市府表示將會加強派廠商定期巡視，調度車輛。

Taipei looks to end exploitation of YouBike pricing scheme (2013/08/19)

The Taipei government plans to end a pricing loophole on its popular bicycle sharing system. It will restrict YouBike users from renting bicycles in succession, to prevent people from using bikes free of charge for an extended period of time. 

All it takes to rent a YouBike is an EasyCard, and what’s more, the first half hour is free. Some users are exploiting this special discount by returning their bike before the 30 minutes are up, then immediately renting another. They can ride continuously, free of charge. The Taipei government is fed up.

Before the end of the year we are planning a new rule. If you return a bike before your 30 minutes expire and want to rent again, you may have to wait 10 or 20 minutes.
