(中央社訊息服務20091117 11:54:55)今年一場企業徵才活動中，有廠商表示兩千位面試者裡，有五成大專畢業的求職者連二十六個英文字母都寫不齊全，甚至有七成將英文單字的一到十寫錯，誇張的英文程度不僅讓企業主震驚之外更感到失望。而教育部審查三十五所私立大學也發現，私大學生英檢平均通過率只有0.74%，大專生的菜英文讓教育部積極思考未來各大學將設英文能力為畢業門檻，學生以後英文不好恐怕很難從大學畢業。 另一方面，台灣學子也感受到外語學習的迫切性，根據104人力銀行調查顯示，有八成一的受訪者正在準備證照考試，其中又以「語言、資訊、財金」等三類證照，是青年學子最想獲得的三種證照類型。至於要考取什麼樣的語言證照呢？目前在104教育網上最流行的語言證照為職場英語相關的多益TOEIC、留學用的托福TOEFL、雅思IELTS及日語檢定JLPT，想充電的學子不妨可從這幾種證照下手。 佳音兒童文教基金會顧問黃玉珮博士表示，善加利用課餘時間充電，獲得語言證照，不但可以提升實力，將來畢業後更有機會能獲得較好的工作職缺，是大專生在學期間最划算的投資。 為幫助大專生提升英、日文實力，擺脫畢業即失業的惡夢，佳音兒童文教基金會特委託CEO國際語言教育中心舉辦「大專生英日語學習專案」，提供3週免費英、日語課程，內容包括多益TOEIC認證、日語會話，課程結束後並輔導考取專業證照。

打招呼算是最基本的口語了，跟人見面第一句肯定要打招呼，如果你還停留在"Hello?" "How are you?" "How do you do?"的層次上，那你可能要聽不懂美國人說話了。 　　美國人喜歡說的是：　　- How are you doing？　　- I'm doing good。 How are you doing 這句話運用的最「出神入化」的要算是美國影集六人行裡的Joey,他每次見到美女都會跟人家搭訕說「How are you doing。」 　　類似的打招呼方式還有：　　How's everything going? How do ye? 　　What's up? 幾句話都相當於「你怎麼樣？」「你好嗎？」但如果細究，第一句似問對方最近一切是否順利；第二句據說是從How do ye? 這句19世紀初的問候語簡化而來；而第三句則側重問對方那裡有沒有新聞，但實際就是打招呼。 回答可根據情況，比如答good, not so good，okay 等。還有人說 Just hanging in there。意思是「就那麼將就著！」這種說法挺形象，hang指懸在空中吊著，的確是在那兒將就著。此說法於上世紀60年代在嬉皮士中盛行。有些 語言學家認為，這個說法最早源於體育界，用來鼓勵弱隊，堅持下去。如：Don't give up. Hang in there。別洩氣，堅持下去。 　　美語的道別方式也五花八門，如：　　So long! 　　Have fun! 　　Break a leg! 後兩句用在知道對方去聚會或旅行時，有「祝你玩得盡興」的意思。尤其是最後一句，有「祝你好運的意思」，此說法源於演藝界，藝人們在首演時忌諱 說「Good luck！」，所以反話正說，有點像現在中國南方時興的恭維話，「不要太漂亮啦！」等等，而絕不是咒人把腿摔斷。《歌舞青春》在第一部片尾莎佩就對凱碧說過這句話。

<新牛津美語大辭典>(New Oxford American Dictionary)將Facebook中的一個刪除好友的詞彙「Unfriend」評選為2009年的年度詞彙。《新牛津美語大辭典》對「Unfriend」的解釋是：「動詞，在Facebook等社交網站上將『好友』刪除。」 unfriend - verb - To remove someone as a 'friend' on a social networking site such as Facebook 　　除此之外，包括Twitter標籤「hashtag」、「netbook」(小筆電)、「paywall」(網站的收費閱讀限制)、「freemium」(免費加值)、「色情簡訊」（sexting）、「出生質疑者」（birther，特別指質疑歐巴馬出生在肯亞而非夏威夷、因此沒有資格擔任美國總統的人）與「死亡委員會」（death panel）。 　　牛津出版社的資深辭彙編纂者林柏格（ChristineLindberg）表示：「unfriend具有真正的辭彙吸引力。不但使用廣泛也可能長久流傳，在線上社群的情境下，意思清楚，把它當成現代的動詞使用，讓這個字成為年度字彙的有趣選項。 詳細請參考牛津部落格
