The Saudi Press Agency recently reported that over 40 camels were disqualified from this year’s King Abdulaziz Camel Festival pageant because of Botox injections and other cosmetic procedures.

A bunker built by German troops in Saint-Pabu in northern France during World War Two has been restored and refitted as an underground guesthouse.

Japanese researchers have developed masks that use ostrich antibodies to detect COVID-19 by glowing under ultraviolet light.

A Japanese train driver is suing his employer after his wages were docked 56 yen over a minute-long delay to the country’s famously punctual rail system, the company said Thursday.

Greece is to make COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for people aged 60 and over, in a drastic move to stem a new surge in coronavirus cases.

Israeli startup Redefine Meat on Tuesday expanded operations into Europe where it hopes to reach thousands of restaurants by the end of next year and served for the first time its plant-based whole cuts of alternative meat.

總部在東京的新創企業Sanatech Seed和築波大學的科學家，利用CRISPR/Cas9基因編輯技術，聯合研發出這種名為「高GABA西西里胭脂」的新品種番茄。這種新種番茄的GABA含量是普通番茄的5到6倍。

According to Japanese media, the company removed an inhibitory domain within the tomato’s genome to enable it to produce these high levels of GABA.

Unlike genetically modified foods, genome-edited plant varieties are considered just as safe as varieties improved using conventional methods because no outside gene is introduced during the process.
