彭淮南打房
央行總裁彭淮南，今天到立院備詢，對於先前拋出要借款人注意「利率風險」，被解讀為暗示升息，彭淮南解釋，善意提醒借款人在寬限期後的利率變動，和升息是兩碼子事。
被立委質疑打房不力，讓彭總裁話愈說愈急，強調央行的政策，已經影響到豪宅客。

“這些高價房宅，不是媒體所說的，他口袋很深，有一戶跟銀行借款借到99%，所以我們加以規範之後，現在平均貸款成數降到56.53%”
就是擔心房貸戶會倒債，因此提出借款人注意「利率風險」的警示，不過彭淮南也特別澄清，這並不代表要升息！

彭淮南解釋台灣長期利率受美國影響，因此若QE退場，美國有變化，台灣才會有變動。

Eyebrows were raised last week when central bank governor Perng Fai-nan warned homeowners that benchmark interest rates would eventually have to rise. Today Perng explained that he was simply saying people should be cautious when taking out loans and was not foreboding a rise in interest rates.
As lawmakers implied that the central bank is not doing enough to keep housing prices under control, bank head Perng Fai-nan became agitated. Perng says his policies have already affected the luxury housing market.

The reality wasn’t like the media’s portrayal of wealthy people snapping up high-priced homes. One buyer borrowed 99 percent of the home’s value. So we cracked down, and now the average loan has dropped to 56.53 percent.
Perng recently described the risks associated with rising interest rates to warn homebuyers and avoid a spate of foreclosures. Today Perng clarified that this did not mean he was planning to raise benchmark rates.

The central bank’s objective is to maintain a stable financial environment. We wanted to warn consumers and banks that they should heed risks associated with interest rates. It is different from the central bank deciding whether or not to raise benchmark rates.
Perng added that interest rates in Taiwan are closely connected to the US economy. Taiwan is only likely to take strong action when the United States rolls back quantitative easing.
