公車防死角
大型車輛轉彎的視線死角，常會造成行車意外。現在財團法人車輛研究測試中心，研發出全新的行車安全系統，運用廣角鏡頭，拍攝車體四邊的街景，再把影像疊合，即時顯示360度鳥瞰圖，讓駕駛視線沒有死角。還能監控駕駛行車狀況的臉部偵測器，相當便利。
車輛轉彎，側邊常出現死角，容易發生意外。現在有新法寶，只要裝上全周影像系統，就能出現車體鳥瞰圖。

“大車你在行駛當中，本身因為車身比較大，那我們能看的還是有限，那當你裝了這套系統之後，前後都有監視器的話，看的領域會更大。”
影像系統是在車體前後左右，各裝一隻廣角攝影機，將拍攝影像疊合，做出360度鳥瞰圖，視線零死角。
那要是開車開太久，駕駛不小心打瞌睡，還能叫醒駕駛。
靠的是這套臉部偵測系統，隨時監控駕駛視線，只要開車不專心，系統都會立刻警告。

“每個系統來講喔，它最主要的部分來講，要做過設計，還有開發，還有驗證測試，要完整的話大概都要2到3年時間，每套系統估計起來，大概都要2.3千萬的研發經費。”
最新的行車安全系統，預計明年就能上市，物流車行跟客運業者，也已經考慮加裝，未來也許就能減少，視線死角造成的行車意外。
New devices make truck driving safer (2013/10/02)
The state-run Automotive Research & Testing Center has developed two new devices that make truck driving safer. One compiles images from four cameras to form a bird’s eye view of the vehicle’s perimeter that eliminates all blind spots. The second monitors driver’s line of vision and sounds an alarm if it detects signs of drowsiness.
When turning corners, blind spots on either side of the vehicle are common accident sites. To solve this problem, there is a new system available that presents images of the vehicle’s full surroundings in bird’s eye form.

When you are driving a large vehicle its size limits what you can see. But installing this system with cameras in front and back gives a much bigger range of vision.
Fisheye lens cameras are installed on all four sides of the vehicle. Footage is compiled into a 360-degree bird’s eye image that eliminates all blind spots.
Another device alerts drivers who fall asleep at the wheel.
The instrument works using a facial monitoring system. It keeps watch on the driver’s line of vision and issues an alert when it senses that attention is not on the road.

The main components of each system require design, development, testing and verification – the entire R&D process takes two to three years and about NT$23 million in spending.
These latest devices are expected to be available to consumers next year. Truck operators are already considering adding them to better ensure safety
