暫定執法線
台灣漁民遭到菲律賓公務船開槍殺害，海巡和海軍艦艇展開護漁作業，但立委質疑，只在暫定執法線內巡護，根本就是畫地自限，才會讓菲律賓吃人夠夠，要求執法線向南延伸。
準備漁船，琉球漁民照常出海，聽到政府出動軍艦護漁，大家安心不少。

期待政府的保護力量，因為目前海巡艦的巡護範圍僅限於暫定執法線內，但出了線外，還有一大段台菲重疊海域，漁民捕魚難免心驚膽跳。
今天有多名立委，要求檢討改善有關暫定執法線一事。

“暫定執法線請教(農委會)副主委是誰畫的，內政部，這是我們自己消極自訂的啦，這叫畫地自限，因為這是一個重疊爭議的海域，所以在這種有爭議的暫定執法線的重疊範圍裏面，老實講比的就是拳頭大小”
對此，海巡署和農委會都支持將暫定執法線繼續往南延伸，並表示這不會影響到主權問題。

Taiwanese lawmakers are urging the government to increase protection for fishermen in disputed waters in the Bashi Channel. Some suggest redrawing a temporary enforcement line to let Taiwan’s Navy extend its range of protection.
These Pingtung County fishermen are preparing to go out to sea as usual. They were relieved when they heard the government dispatched warships to protect them.

If something happens, we will see if we are able to quickly go over towards them for protection. Otherwise they may simply open fire upon us if they see that we are Taiwan fishing boats.
Despite the protection offered by Coast Guard patrol ships, the ships are only permitted to operate within the area bordered by the temporary enforcement line. Outside this area, there is a large overlapping economic zone which still worries the fishermen.
Some lawmakers are urging the government to modify its regulations.

So, deputy minister, the temporary enforcement line was drawn by the Ministry of the Interior. Passively drawing a line like this is simply imposing restrictions on ourselves. There are overlapping claims in these seas. In these overlapping areas inside the temporary enforcement line, what matters most is the size of one’s fist.
The Coast Guard Administration and Council of Agriculture support extending the temporary enforcement line farther south. They say it is not a matter of sovereignty.
