在網路世界非常盛行的"比特幣"，現在台灣也買的到，有遊戲商在網路商城，開賣比特幣，馬上銷售一空，不過，專家也提醒，比特幣有泡沫風險，想要投資的民眾，還是得仔細評估。

遊戲商華義架設的網路商城，不只能用比特幣交易，5月開始，還能讓民眾購買比特幣。

比特幣波動大，2013年初只能兌換幾十塊美金，到了2013年底，暴漲到1比1千多美元，今天則是1比439美元。

Bitcoins can now be purchased in Taiwan. Sales of the digital currency on the online shopping site Wmall have been brisk since the official launch yesterday. 

Customers can now use Wmall for the exchange of Bitcoins. Payments can be made with the digital currency and Bitcoins can also be bought.

If you buy it today, what happens if the day comes when no country accepts it? It’s a virtual currency that would have a value comparable to wallpaper.

At the beginning of 2013, Bitcoins could be had for a couple dozen US dollars. By the end of the year they reached quadruple digits. Today they are worth about US$439 each.

昨天在立院院初審通過史上最大加稅案，年收入超過千萬的高所得者所得稅率從40%提高到45%，股利扣抵稅額減半，國家要富人加稅，財政部長張盛和今天說很多富人很樂意。

全國約9500位所得超過一千萬人的富人要加稅，財政部長張盛和不怕引起反彈。

財政部表示，大老闆加稅回饋社會後，可以讓近500萬繳稅戶受益減稅，同時讓國家財政更健全！

According to the finance minister, several of Taiwan’s wealthiest back proposed tax increases that would raise the highest marginal tax rate from 40 to 45 percent. The measure passed legislative committee yesterday but still has to be approved in two plenary votes. 

There about 9,500 people in Taiwan with net annual income over NT$10 million. Finance Minister Chang Sheng-ford says he’s not worried about a backlash that could result from asking them to pay more in taxes.

I may have to pay an extra million or two a year. More important is this will bring greater harmony to Taiwanese society and reduce the wealth gap.

The proposed tax changes would lower payments for nearly 5 million taxpayers while still bringing in additional revenue for the treasury.

公投法修法，引發藍綠論戰，行政院長江宜樺昨天強調，最看不起拒領公投票的反動員做法，不過，民進黨立委發現，2004年江宜樺也沒有領公投票。今天質詢時，還有綠委送他印有"官逼民反"字樣的毛巾，讓江宜樺臉色尷尬、拒絕收下。

民進黨立委蘇震清立法院質詢，當場秀出印有"官逼民反"字樣的毛巾，送給行政院長江宜樺。

江宜樺說什麼也不肯伸手接下，不過，蘇震清還有招，拿出江宜樺當教授時說的話，教訓江院長。

針對江宜樺昨天說看不起拒領公投票一事，立委再搬出江教授。

江宜樺表示，當時的公投主文是「強化國防」，根本不是需要公投的議題，跟現在的核四爭議不同。

Some nuclear power supporters have decided to abstain from voting in a proposed referendum on the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant so the vote doesn’t reach a turnout threshold needed to be valid. Premier Jiang Yi-huah said yesterday that he looks down on those planning to use this tactic. That left him open to criticism in the Legislature today when a DPP lawmaker revealed evidence that Jiang refused to take part in a 2004 referendum. 

DPP Legislator Su Chen-ching displayed a towel that was printed with the phrase “an official who drives the public to revolt” then presented it to Premier Jiang Yi-huah.

Jiang refused to accept it, though Su continued to implore him, displaying comments made by Jiang when he was a professor.

What I have in my hands are Professor Jiang’s words, which I wish to use to instruct Premier Jiang. “Democratic institutions that fail to directly respond to the demands of citizens will lead to protests regarding the legitimacy of the system, commensurate in amount proportional to the government’s degree of insensitivity to the public.”

Regarding Jiang’s comments yesterday that he looked down on citizens who don’t participate in a referendum vote, one legislator had a surprise for him.

In my hands, I have an op-ed piece written in 2004 for the China Times by Professor Jiang where he said he has decided to refuse to receive a (referendum) ballot to express his position on this particular matter.

Jiang clarified that the particular referendum vote he was referring to was one to "strengthen national defense." He continues to believe that no referendum was needed on this issue and said it differs significantly from a referendum on the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant.

President Ma Ying-jeou’s mother Chin Hou-hsiu has died of acute respiratory failure at age 93. She had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and was admitted to Taipei’s Wan Fang Hospital last month. 

The hospital says the Ma family has decided not to issue an obituary or rent a funeral hall. Ma was with his mother before she died and will make funerary arrangements over the next several days.

台鐵APP 
台鐵預計下月中正式推出官方版訂票App，正在加緊測試。不但可查時刻表、列車動態資訊，還可直接訂票、付款。其中特別的一項功能是，萬一發生事故，造成鐵路中斷或延誤，也會主動通知用戶。

Taiwan entered the semifinals of the team competition at the World Table Tennis Championships after defeating South Korea. Unfortunately, they would face China who is working on winning this title 7 consecutive times. Taiwan’s team consisted of Chen Chien-an, Chuang Chih-yuan, and Huang Sheng-sheng would lose three consecutive games to their Chinese competitors, though they would end up qualify for a bronze medal, the highest level of achievement for a Taiwan team. 

Taipei 101 Race 
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Taipei 101, a race to the top of the building was held attracting more than 5,000 participants. Mark Bourne from Australia was able to successfully defend his title, and walk away with NT$100,000 in prize money. 

TRA Ticket App
Taiwan Railways is expected to officially launch an app in mid-June that will allow commuters to directly reserve tickets. At the moment, the app is going through trial tests. The app will also allow users the opportunity to check timetables and the status of trains as well as directly book tickets and make payment. Another important function is the app can also inform users should a railway accident or major disruption of service take place.
