有藍營立委建議院長王金平動用警察權來驅離民眾，不過王金平表示，國會自主的對象是立法委員，但現在國會議場不是被立法委員佔據，所以不是警察權的問題，是整個社會的治安的問題。

A pressing question for authorities is what to do with the occupying students. The Presidential Office and Cabinet seem to have passed responsibility to the Legislature by saying they respect the autonomy of the lawmaking body. 

A KMT legislator suggested that Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-pyng use his authority to ask the police to expel the students. But Wang says the Legislature holds autonomy over legislators, but the occupiers are students. Wang believes it’s not a question of his authority to ask police to clear the Legislature but rather an issue of public security.
