陳偉殷即將向金鶯報到，展開今年球季的春訓，金鶯官網也公佈，陳偉殷被設定為第二號先發投手，而他本季第一場比賽，將在主場迎戰去年世界大賽冠軍紅襪隊。
提早在一月中旬就赴美備戰新球季的陳偉殷，即將在美國時間十三日，到金鶯春訓基地報到，金鶯官網最新的一篇球隊戰力分析指出，陳偉殷將會是表定的第二號先發投手，排名僅次於Chris Tillman。
今年是陳偉殷和金鶯三年合約的最後一年，根據合約，陳偉殷在2013和14這兩年，只要先發56場，或是投球局數360局，他就能獲得600萬美元的新約。
以往陳偉殷都會在第七局以後出狀況，因此他今年特別注重加強體能，希望?場比賽都能投得更長。
金鶯暫定的先發投手輪值是Chris Tillman、陳偉殷、Miguel Gonzalez和Bud Norris，按照這樣的輪值，陳偉殷本季的第一次出賽，將會是在四月三日上午七點，在主場迎戰紅襪隊。
Baltimore Orioles pitcher Chen Wei-yin is preparing to report to spring training. The Taiwanese left-hander is expected to be the Orioles number two pitcher.
Chen Wei-yin left for the United States in mid-January to begin preparing for spring training and will report to camp on Thursday, US time. The official Orioles website predicts he will be the number two pitcher in the rotation, behind club ace Chris Tillman.
This is the final year of Chen’s three-year contract with the Orioles. If, over the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Chen starts a total of 56 games or pitches 360 innings, he will be guaranteed an additional year at US$6 million.
In the past, Chen frequently experienced trouble in the seventh inning as fatigue would set in. For this reason, he worked hard on his physical conditioning this offseason.
The Orioles starting rotation is tentatively expected to include club ace Chris Tillman, followed by Chen Wei-yin, Miguel Gonzalez and Bud Norris. Given this rotation, Chen’s first start of the season would be April 3, Taiwan time, at home against the Boston Red Sox.
