蔡英文的小英基金會，上禮拜秘密訪中，由基金會執行長林全帶隊，團員除了多位卸任官員，還有現任立委，蔡英文強調，這是財經專業交流，希望能夠建立兩岸交流新模式，至於有沒有可能親自訪中？蔡英文說，目前沒有計畫，但她相信兩岸繼續交流，或許有一天條件會成熟。

小英基金會執行長林全，主動召開記者會報告訪中行，團員一字排開，蔡英文也全程作陪，強調這是真正的專業的財經交流之旅。

五天的訪問行程，前往北京和天津，拜會學術機構以及百度和聯想等民間企業。儘管基金會強調是單純的財經交流，但外界聯想，是否為蔡英文的訪中探路？

對於外傳蔡英文近期內還將宣布參選黨主席，蔡英文依舊不鬆口，但她的一舉一動，都增添話題。

Former DPP Chairwoman Tsai Ing-wen says she has no plans to visit China, but could in the future if conditions are right. Tsai made the comment while discussing the recent trip to Beijing and Tianjin by the executive director of her foundation. 

Lin Chuan, executive director of the Thinking Taiwan Foundation, led a press conference today. He appeared with foundation founder Tsai Ing-wen. Both emphasized that the purpose of Lin’s visit to China was to discuss finance.

For a long time, Thinking Taiwan Foundation has been concerned about a new model of economic development in Taiwan. We must directly address the issue of cross-strait economic development.

Professional exchange is simply professional exchange. We do not need to politicize these exchanges. We also don’t want exchanges to be merely formal exercises.

The five-day visit took the delegation to Beijing and Tianjin with visits to academic institutions and private companies such as Baidu and Lenovo. The foundation said the visit only involved financial exchange, but others speculate it could be a precursor to a China visit by Tsai Ing-wen.

If we continue to maintain an attitude conducive to exchange, we believe that perhaps one day conditions may be ripe for a (visit). But now, at the moment, we have no such plans.

There is also speculation that Tsai could run again for DPP chairwoman, but she won’t give a definitive answer.
