經濟成長率

台灣第一季經濟成長率原先預估是3.26%，不過今天主計總處一口氣下修到1.54%，主要原因是中國和歐盟經濟疲軟，加上國內手機出貨量不如預期，但是主計處強調，台灣的經濟狀況在亞洲只輸給泰國，全年保3還是有望。

HTC推出的新機皇，民眾搶著買，可是宏達電卻沒有貨，導致宏達電第一季稅後每股盈餘只有0.1元，間接讓台灣第一季經濟成長率，卻一口氣從原本預估的3.26%下修到1.54%。

內需方面，民眾消費意願降低也是拖累GDP的原因之一。

主計處承認復甦力道趨緩，但比起其它差的國家，還是不錯的。

“我國(前兩月成長率)2.4%，在東協國家，以及亞洲四小龍國家當中，是僅次於泰國的4.1%”

這一比，讓在野立委更加不滿。

主計處強調，即使第一季GDP表現不佳，但對全年保3還是很有信心。

Statistics bureau announces first quarter growth of 1.54% (2013/04/30)

The statistics bureau is confident that growth this year will surpass 3 percent despite disappointing first quarter figures. The bureau announced today that growth in the quarter was 1.54 percent, less than half an earlier estimate. 

The new HTC One is proving to be a popular item. But the inability of the Taiwanese company to meet demand dragged down its earnings per share in the first quarter to just a tenth of an NT dollar. This was just one contributing factor to Taiwan’s anemic 1.54 percent growth in the first quarter, down from an earlier government forecast of 3.26 percent.

The main reason for the decline is that exports failed to meet expectations.

Lower domestic demand also hurt GDP.

Domestic demand in the first quarter contributed its second lowest share to GDP in the past decade. It shows that the general public has no confidence in the government or economic prospects.

The nation’s statistics bureau admits the ongoing recovery lacks punch. But it says that Taiwan is outperforming Asian competitors.

(Growth over the past two months) was 2.4 percent. That is second only to Thailand’s 4.1 percent among the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the four Asian tigers.

The opposition DPP felt that specialist Jasmine Mei was trying to defend the Ma Ying-jeou administration.

It’s not a statistics bureau. It’s a mechanism to help this administration cover up its blemishes. 

Despite the worse-than-expected performance, the statistics bureau says it is confident that annual growth for 2013 will still surpass 3 percent.
