After eight years of remaining fixed, a report says domestic airline fares will increase by 5 to 30 percent. If so, flying from Taipei to Taitung could become as expensive as some no frills international flights. The Civil Aeronautics Administration has not confirmed the report.
When people heard that domestic flight fares could rise, many said they wouldn’t fly.
“It’s tough to pay for food, not to mention these high-priced tickets. There’s no way that I’ll fly.”

“Vacation is set and won’t be reduced. What’s increasing is the burden of these tickets. It might end up costing an extra NT$5,000 annually.”
Domestic flight fares have not been raised in eight years. The airlines say they must be hiked to accommodate higher fuel prices.
A report says the fares of flying on 10 of Taiwan’s main routes, to the east and outlying islands, will be raised by 5 to 30 percent. The changes would affect all four airlines operating domestic routes.

傳出國內四家航空公司、飛東部和離島的10條主要航線，將可能要調漲5-30%的票價。

“要來定論說，要來調漲或是要來調降，其實是還言之過早，會經過嚴密的審核過程才會知道(哪時候對外公佈) ，目前而言並沒有時間表”
民航局小心翼翼，不敢明確說調整幅度，也不給方案出爐時間表，就怕不小心惹民怨。
