The Detroit Tigers had their backs against the wall this morning as they faced the Giants in Game 4 of the World Series. The win would give San Francisco its second championship in three years.
The fourth game of the World Series saw the Tigers take the lead with a long ball by triple crown winner Miguel Cabrera.
At last the Tigers could see a glimmer of hope. But it wouldn’t last long as the Giants would strike back and retake the lead.
National League batting champ Buster Posey blasted a two-run shot to put the Giants ahead. The Tigers would respond to the call with a solo shot of their own.
The Tigers were relying on the long ball to score, and in the bottom half of the ninth, Jhonny Peralta nearly had a walk-off homer.
A narrow miss saw the score knotted at 3 to 3, requiring extra innings. The Giants would rely upon NLCS MVP Marco Scutaro to play the role of hero
Scutaro stepped to the plate and delivered a bloop single to score the runner from second, giving the Giants the go-ahead run. And in the bottom of the 10th, reliever Sergio Romo would strike out the next three batters earning the win and sealing the victory for the Giants.
The Giants swept the Tigers to take their seventh World Series in team history, and the second in three years. Pablo Sandoval won series MVP after batting .500 with three homers and four runs batted in.

巨人以4連勝橫掃老虎，拿下隊史第7次，也是三年來第2次，世界大賽冠軍，功夫熊貓Sandoval，以5成打擊率3支全壘打和4分打點，獲選MVP最有價值球員，巨人全隊興奮又開心的慶賀，他們也寫下季後賽7連勝，打破隊史紀錄
